This video explains the history of the concept of the green screen, which is quite interesting. It's very interesting to see how the idea started out, and how far it has come today. I found it interesting that an actual 'green' screen wasn't used until recently. This is an interesting video about the history of movie making.
Side note: I find the guy talking in the video to be quite boring, but that's just my opinion.
